Johnny Wilkinson
Instructor/Service Technician
Johnny was an associate trainer for BHB for about 10 years before retiring from the Fire Service as a Watch Commander. He then joined the team in 2021 as the lead instructor for our fire safety training courses and in addition, instructs on confined space and rescue courses too. When not training, Johnny can be found in the workshop servicing, calibrating and repairing confined space equipment.
Bill Mackness
Owner/Manager
Duties – Bill not only manages the day to day running of BHB but also is an instructor and consultant on all Working at Height issues. He also services and repairs all equipment used in Confined Space Entry and Working at Height.
Track Record – Bill joined BHB in 2006 as Service Manager and took ownership of the company in 2011.
Bill started working life serving his time as a Motor Mechanic attaining City & Guilds 381 before joining Bombardier where he worked his way up to Lead-Hand Fitter.
During his time with BHB Bill has attended many training courses certifying him to work on both Working at Height and Confined Space Entry equipment. Bill has recently been awarded a NEBOSH General Certificate after studying at Northern Regional College, Newtownabbey.
Rachel Scott
Office Administrator/Course Facilitator
Duties – Rachel carries out all the administration duties including answering queries, invoicing, bank reconciliations, VAT returns, e-marketing, course administration etc.
Track Record – Rachel joined BHB after leaving school in 2005. During her time at BHB Rachel has successfully studied Business Administration up to NVQ Level 3.
Billy Ferguson
Instructor/Assessor/Consultant
Duties – Billy is the lead instructor, assessor and consultant in all Confined Space training and other issues.
Track Record – Billy has an HND in Mech. Eng. ONC in Elect. Eng,, NEBOSH General Certificate. He started out his working life in the Belfast City Council Gas Department as a District Technician and then as the Process Engineer at the Gas Reforming Plant at Sydenham. After 10 years he moved to NIE where he worked for 10 years as a Shift Engineer at Power Station West and a further 7 years as the Stations Health and Safety Officer. During this time Billy was seconded to work for 18 months in Power Stations and a deep coal mine in Hungary. On the closure of the Power Station, Billy was then appointed Group Health and Safety Manager for the W&R Barnett group of companies.
Billy joined BHB in 2004 and with his previous industrial experience ensures his courses are effective, interesting and interactive.
